This is an odd request but, without going into detail, I didn't have a "normal" childhood when it came to reading. My parents didn't read or speak great English and the only books I could read, beside school books, were the bible and other Christian books since my family was devoutly Christian.
I feel like I missed out on reading as a kid (not picture books) and want to try and relive some of the childhood I wish I had. A secondary effect will be to hopefully jumpstart a love for reading since I would presumably get through these quicker than adult fiction.
So, Reddit, what were your favorite (non picture) books as a kid?
Some examples of things on my list:
The Roald Dahl books
Ramona quimby
The little prince
Stuart little
Charlotte's web
Harry potter
These are ones I can remember all my friends were reading.
