Right now I am reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and I am really enjoying the engaging, often mysterious world-building. I am looking for another Sci-Fi/fantasy novel (series?) with unique societies/cultures to the point that just navigating them becomes part of the plot. Another example that comes to mind is The Handmaid’s Tale. Not necessarily dystopian (although I like those too), just something to really make you think about the things you take for granted about life.
