I’m mostly blind and get fatigued ears from having to use screen-readers all the time on my phone and computer. (If you’re curious what those are, you can turn one on in your settings on your phone: Voiceover on Apple, Talkback on Android.)
I’m looking for a good book to read in the Braille House library in Australia. I’m not allowed to share a link, but if you Google Braille House Australia, and click on the link to their catalogue, there is a search there.
I really like sci-fi by female authors, and good memoirs that are self-aware. Animal stories are nice as well, and humorous mysteries are great. Any humor that’s not just misogynistic is also appreciated. This library will probably be weighted toward Australian and UK authors. Maybe South African as well.
If anyone is inclined to search that library to see if it carries your suggestion, I’d be so appreciative. I can do it myself, but it takes a lot longer for me as I am not fast with screen-readers yet.
If you give a suggestion but don’t want to look it up, that’s fine too, just let me know you didn’t search for it, and I can search for it myself.

Alas, the library doesn’t have books for the following authors:
Becky Chambers
Martha Wells
John Scalzi
Robert A. Heinlein
They have “The Lathe of Heaven” by Ursula Le Guin (SF classic ) and they have “A Wizard of Earthsea” (fantasy) by the same author.
Edited to add: not SF or female author but “Watership Down” by Richard Adams is good.
“The Crystal Cave” by Mary Stewart
“A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle
“A Handmaid’s Tale” Margaret Atwood.
If you’re open to middle grade fantasy, I highly recommend Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend!
