Hi! I’m trying to learn about prejudice and unconscious bias, and a topic I’ve never really considered or seen much content on is ageism. I’m in my twenties and I guess a lot of my world view is shaped by similarly aged people, the only people I’m close with that are 10+ years older than me are my (small) family.

Are there any good books on ageism? Preferably from the perspective of someone a lot older with a lot of life experience. I’m a fan of well written autobiographies. Thanks!

There’s a good book called Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. It’s geared towards end of life care but talks a lot about society’s view of aging and how it influences actual medical decisions, living arrangement options, and quality of life of older adults.
