I was daydreaming the other day and was wondering if there will ever be a time in the future where we will be excavating landfill sites where previous generations waste has been dumped.

Wondered if anyone knew of any novels that feature this happening.

Could be for archeological reasons or for resource mining.

    TIA!

You might like “The Stone Gods” by Jeanette Winterson. It explores futuristic themes and waste-destroyed worlds. Also, “The Windup Girl” by Paolo Bacigalupi is another great read about future societies dealing with environmental collapse.
