    Greetings!

I’m looking for a book I could read along with the texts like the Bible, Qur'an, Gita (or any of the Hindu texts), Torah, Guru Granth Sahib, or
Tripitaka that would explain the different ways people see the chapter, like for example in the Bible I know that some stories are meant to be literal and some metaphorical – which religions take it literally .. that kind of thing.

It would also be really cool if the book mentioned alternative translations like I’ve heard that in the story of Adam and Eve, an alternative translation would have been that he made Eve from his side rather than his rib.

It would also be cool if it broke down maybe in summary version what the point of the story was (I know that you’re supposed to do this in a spiritual way but I’m not religious so I have a hard time doing it) basically I just end up reading these texts critically/skeptically and I’m looking for something to read along side that will talk about the spiritual side of things or like metaphorical / emotional side.

Historical implications would be cool too, like what was going on at the time of writing or how people used to interpret ect. But I’m more interested in the previous things.

If anybody has some suggestions that would be really cool!! Thank you!
