Hi me and my friends started a casual book club. we're four women and one man. all between 28-33. We love discussing symbolism, politics, ideology, etc. We just read three body problem and liked it, but felt the writing style and character development were lackluster. We want a fiction book under 300 pages that is well written, and would be great to discuss the symbolism, ideology, politics, and have some predictions since we do a midway meeting and a final meeting once we've finished. I personally like sci fi but maybe we've done that already. My favorite books otherwise are from Ocean Vuong, Ray Bradbury, David Sedaris, and Stephen King
none of the classics because we've read them all, and nothing like toooo violent/ SA as one member is sensitive to these topics
