Hi there! I'm looking for some eerie books where a character that the protagonist knows has been replaced, what I mean by that, either there's a spirit, demon, or alien possessing their body and acting on their behalf, maybe an alien had done experiments with the human and is now wearing their skin, or even a clone was put in their place to act as if everything was normal. Basically on the surface, the character didn't make it look like anything was wrong, but underneath that appearance was something different.

*My Best Friend’s Exorcism* by Grady Hendrix. The plot is exactly what it sounds like: the main character’s best friend gets possessed by a demon, the main character is the only one who notices there’s something wrong, so she tries to figure out how to exorcise her friend. It’s a little tongue-in-cheek and even lighthearted at times, so I would argue it’s less horror and more thriller.
