I'm looking for a new series of books to read with my mother and sister. We used to read the same series a lot many years ago. It was like a small family book club. Sometimes one of us would discover an ongoing series, so we'd all catch up and then celebrate the new releases in the series. Examples that come to mind are The Dark Tower by Stephen King and the Noble Dead Saga by Barb & J.C. Hendee.
Anyway, here is a list of some series she or I are fans of for reference. She leans heavily into high fantasy and some science fiction. Her favorite since childhood was anything Asimov or Vonnegut, so I've read them also. However, I've avoided those genres for a long while and tend more toward contemporary fiction. (I'll put some examples of books I've read recently and loved after the series list).
