My friend and I want to do a challenge for Pride Month. We want to read books where one MC's skin is in one of the rainbow colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). We both know that they most likely will be alien/monster books, and the only rule we set is that we can't do rereads. For example, we both already read the Ice Planet Barbarian books so they can't be used for blue skin. I already have some ideas for colors but wanted to see, if anybody here has other suggestions. We would prefer if they weren't dark romance books, but beside of that we are open to nearly anything.

    1. *There’s The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear* by Walter Moers; it’s kind of a *Gulliver’s Travels*-esque adventure novel, but the main character is an anthropomorphic bear with blue fur (which is a totally normal thing in this world). It looks really long (700 pages), but they used unnecessarily large font and huge spacing, and (based on my usual reading speed) if printed normally, I expect it would only be about 400 pages. It’s very silly and satirical (kind of reminiscent of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe series or the Discworld series).

*The Keeper of the Isis Light* by Monica Hughes is a sci-fi YA novella about a girl with green skin, but I haven’t read it yet, so I can’t say much about the plot.

    2. Wicked for green

      Watchmen for blue

Way of Kings — does marbled red count as red? Not really a MC until the next book tho
