I started reading this book a few months ago and got more than half way through it I’m almost done now and I absolutely love it . Has anyone else read this book? I mentioned it to my mother who is an english teacher but she was unfamiliar with it. I think it’s a really incredible read especially the first story about the vietcong intelligence officer that switches sides. If you’ve read the book what are your thoughts on it?

I loved it. Understood why it won the Pulitzer. I posted the tale of the sunburnt duck [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Extraordinary_Tales/comments/r52rax/birds_of_a_feather_13/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). I also recommend his collection of themed short stories *Severance*. Here’s one titled [Matthew](https://www.reddit.com/r/Extraordinary_Tales/comments/um1ymc/matthew/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).

It won a Pulitzer, so yes. People have read it.
It’s a brilliant book. “The Trip Back” and its portrayal of Alzheimer’s really wrenched my heart.
You might want to check out Tabloid Dreams by Butler. Wackier story premises, but equally good creativity and writing.
