I was gonna ask this question in r/books, but they have a rule about no "personalized requests" and I think this may fall under that.
But as the title says I'm looking for books with notable prose to study to improve my own writing (not looking to copy, but rather incorporate techniques and whatnot).
So besides generalized improvements I'm looking specifically for prose that can be described as psychedelic, dreamlike, literary and so on in that general vein.
I'm reading William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy right now. After that Ive also got Blood Meridian lined up, which I have taken a peak at, and wow McCarthy's prose is phenomenal. Also had William S Burroughs' Naked Lunch on my radar, as well as Ursula K Leguin's works.
Any genre is fair game.
