I realized why I struggle with romance booksthe other week. A quote about relationships "to men romance is a verb, something you do while to women romance is a noun, something you receive." hit a little too close to home. I realized I don't enjoy reading my own life experiences of pursuing a relationship where the other party's idea of reciprocation is basically "I'm not telling you to stop and might encourage a moment here or there". So I'm looking for romance where it's not predominantly one sided, where both parties are trying to woo the other or at least where it's not just one party bending over backwards to make it happen.
