Hi all, I guess I will start with a bit of a rant.. it's a bit difficult for me to find good books to read.. I'm really trying… But I'm a bit stuck.. Let me give you an idea of what I like: Nabokov, David Foster Wallace… I'm now trying to get through James Joyce's' Ulysses, but that's a bit of a tough one… So I'm looking for something to read in between.. A while ago I wanted to try reading more 'classic' American fiction, so I read 'Freedom' by J. Franzen – really did not like it, such a waste of time… Of some more recent books I read and liked: Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. That was a nice one. But it's not 'highbrow literature', let's say… And I'm looking for something like that – 'highbrow literature' – like Nabokov or David Foster Wallace – but more contemporary… I'm not even sure something like that exists anymore… Otherwise I'm just stuck with rereading the classics… So, would really like somebody to prove me wrong, please do!
