So I just finished Solaris Seethes which is a book that has this premise, but is not very well written. It's about a group of people from Earth transported from different times and backgrounds that all serve their specific purpose to help find the 7 crystals and stop the bad guy from destroying the galaxy. The space ship also has a personality which is amazing.
I love this premise and just wish it was written by a better author. So I'm wondering if there are any other books with a similar premise that are actually well written. Bonus points if there's a sapphic romance, but that's definitely not a requirement.

Becky Chambers’ **The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet** has a construction spaceship crewed with a found-family of multiple species travel across the galaxy to a new job. Most of the story consists of interactions between the crew and incidents that happen along the way.
