My favorite books, in order of when I read them:
-
The Boxcar Children (Gertrude Chandler Warner)
-
Island of the Blue Dolphins (Scott O’Dell)
-
My Side of the Mountain (Jean Craighead George)
-
Life of Pi (Yann Martel)
-
The Martian (Andy Weir)
-
Station Eleven (Emily St. John Mandel)
-
Project Hail Mary (Andy Weir)
For recommendations, you can assume I’ve read all other books by the authors above.
The particular aspects I love are MCs problem solving, amassing supplies, befriending an animal, having joyous moments doing all of the above.
Thanks! Bonus points if the book has a great audiobook version.

This may or may not be what you are looking for. Terra Invictus. It’s a modern day science fiction fantasy survival novel. It begins pre-dystopian as the world and society begins to collapse. It is heavy on conspiracy, war, pandemic, Roman Republic Lore, mythology, fallen angels, secret societies, extraterrestrials and survival. It follows 2 POVs. A Jack who is an American from Texas and Valentia who is a Romacarth of Roman ancestry who lives in Nova Roma. Book came out earlier this year on printed copy and Ebook but the audiobook just came out.

I just finished station eleven what do I read next?!
Lots of things written by Jack London?
Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler.
I too am a lover of books that feature people f*cked in nature and having to survive. Michael Koryta is a good author of books like that.
One slightly in left field is The Future by Naomi Alderman. There are survival elements, dystopian elements, feminist elements.
