Finished Fourth Wing and I wanted to love it, but the gratuitous sex scenes weren’t my thing. Don’t get wrong, I’m not that prude! To me it was just too tawdry and over sexualized, that I was actually turned off. It seemed so YA and obviously I know it’s fantasy, but the love scenes had no real romantic build to them and lacked any depth.
I know so many just loved this book. I didn’t hate it- but I’m looking for something different. Don’t mind romantic scenes and even the occasional descriptive bedroom scene, but I prefer a burn and build over quantity. Any suggestions? Would love a series (not YA) that has some romance and fantasy.
