When I was a kid, my uncle had a set of books about ghosts, the paranormal, power spots, UFOs, legends and a whole slew of weird occult/paranormal/supernatural stuff. A quick google search tells me it's TIME-LIFE's Mysteries of the Unknown series.
I'm currently running an RPG for my friends, fighting Nazis pursuing weird and powerful relics all over the world — a little bit Indiana Jones, a little bit Hellboy, a little bit X-Files, a little bit Metal Gear Solid meets The Laundry Files, or SCP meets Call of Duty. I'm looking for stuff that's similar, the esoteric and eclectically weird, so that I can pepper my own RPG campaign with more real-world oddities and wonders. "Non-fiction", anthropologic books would be ideal, but fiction is great too if it's based on the real world.
