It is it over? How can anything follow this up. For reference I’ve casually read this over the course of 5 months. Most books take me a month. I don’t read everyday and when I do I knock out a chapter or two if I’m into it. This horrific and beautiful book has been my downtime for the past half a year, and I’ve loved it despite its required slower pace. I heard acclaims of this book and Mccarthy, but have been left absolutely blown away. Seems to me more than a book, and I believe my closest experience to near perfect literature. The bar is too high. I might just have to start it over, seriously.

I’m not really a McCarthy fan, but I do admire the great influence Faulkner had on him, thus, I recommend you try Faulkner next. Faulkner is my favorite author.
Oh dear. This is a very divisive book on this sub. Expect some divisiveness.
Personally, I was blown away by Cat in the Hat. It took a twist I was not at all prepared for and sealed the deal for me on my all-timer list.
Yes, never read again
I’ve never read a book with more words that I didn’t know than Blood Meridian. I need a frickin encyclopedia with me when I read it. It’s like he knows the perfect word for everything in existence, shit that I never knew existed.
