I'm looking for audiobooks (mostly), that are written really beautifully, where the story is almost just there as a framework to hold the words.
The fussy bit! I'd rather avoid YA, though I am not adverse to children's books – my favourite books of all time are Tove Jansson's Moomin books; I prefer the story to not be too embedded in the realities of this world, especially all the miserable stuff like politics and war and poverty and all that. Worlds of imagination are where I'd like to be.
(I'd also rather avoid tales of loss at the moment, though if there are any wonderful ones I can save them for when it's not so horribly prominent in my own reality.)
