I’d like a real tome; something I can sink my teeth into but doesn’t move at the speed of molasses. In the past, I’ve enjoyed Lonesome Dove, It, 1Q84. I don’t really like romance unless it’s historical or high fantasy.

Not *quite* a tome, but **Let the Right One In** was a cool read for me.

    2. If you liked King’s work in the past then I would look into Pet Semetary which has pretty solid pacing. For consistent thrills consider an anthology such as Clive Barker’s Books of Blood. I find horror to be the best for escaping reality and “sinking my teeth into” 😈

    3. “Flatland: A Romance Of Many Dimensions” though it won’t take you 12 hours. It’s a really fun book and it left me staring at the wall for hours on end wondering about the 4th dimension

Terra Invictus. It’s a modern day science fiction fantasy. It begins pre-dystopian as the world and society begins to collapse. It is heavy on conspiracy, war, pandemic, Roman Republic Lore, mythology, fallen angels, secret societies, extraterrestrials and survival. It follows 2 POVs. A Jack who is an American from Texas and Valentia who is a Romacarth of Roman ancestry who lives in Nova Roma. Book came out earlier this year on printed copy and Ebook but the audiobook just came out.
