Good short novels/novellas to read for someone who likes…?

Hello all, I am currently studying abroad and doing a lot all the time, have found it difficult to find time to read but I really want to make the time because reading is so central to my life. So I’m looking for short novels/novellas (no short story collections please) that will motivate me to keep it up. Some of my favorite novels are:

• The Secret History
• Anxious People
• Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
• The Idiot (Elif Batuman)
• The Catcher in the Rye

I would also appreciate books that are relatively light in mood, nothing super bleak. Thank you so much everyone!!!
