Hello! I am looking for a really sad book about life and love. I want to be sobbing at the end of this. I am a fan of Evelyn Waugh, Kazuo Ishiguro, and Hanya Yanagihara . I just finished "A Little Life" and I truthfully had learned a lot from that book, but I am looking for something less than 700 pages. I'm not a huge fan of fantasy besides Sci-Fi. I would really appreciate any suggestions! Thank you so much, no spoilers please! I've read "Never Let Me Go," and "Remains of the Day." for reference. Im interested in Hanya's first book incase anyone can recommend it.

this is only 27 pages long. i was reading it and being like “meh, idk why people said this was sad”, and then i turned the page and i fucking lost it and started bawling my eyes out. my sister even came in to check on me cause she thought something happened to me.
this is an incredibly beautiful story that broke my heart into a million pieces.

I don’t usually cry from books, but I was sobbing by the end of this. Warning: It’s about mental health, so avoid it if that’s too upsetting.
