The Tale of Desperaeux is a fun story about a mouse who falls in love with a princess and saves her from the clutches of a vengeful rat. Very happy ending that will leave you feeling giddy inside! I remember having to read this in class when I was in fourth grade, but never finishing it. I found it in the thrift store and decided to give it another go. Glad that I did!
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is bittersweet and is an emotional ride. The book is about a stuck-up toy rabbit who gets separated from his owner, a girl who loved him deeply. However, he did not love back. Through the trials and tribulations that he faces after the separation, he finally learns to love and care for others. He also learns the power of hope.
