I find tha t USA and canadaseem to oisiolated compared to say Denmark where I live. I am not interested necessarily in a danish true crime, but in USA guns are so widespread, and roads so encouraged, that roadkills and gunshots are easily the murder books of the USA.
I’d like to know if you can suggest one that is non american. or even non-north american.

    2. “The Adversary” by Emmanuel Carrère. A very fascinating story about a liar who became a murderer because he couldn’t get away with his lies any more.

    4. “People Who Eat Darkness: The True Story of a Young Woman Who Vanished from the Streets of Tokyo and the Evil That Swallowed Her Up” by Richard Lloyd Parry.

The title is so long it mostly explains what it’s about 😉 But I can add that it’s written by a journalist who covered the story. It was quite a big news story at the time, but it took many years for the full story to come to light.

The Monster of Florence – Douglas Preston and Mario Spezi

      Top Girl – Danielle Marin

The Wicked Boy – Kate Sumerscale

The Professor and the Madman – Simon Winchester. This is not true crime per say, but it does reference a notorious criminal. One who is also mentioned in The Wicked Boy.

The Five – Hallie Rubenhold. This is also not a true crime book per say. It is an examination of the women believed to be the Rippers victims. But it is an extraordinary book.

The Hunt for the Silver Killer by David Collins is an interesting read, it’s not “crazy” in the sense of the crimes that have been committed, but its definitely mind blowing in terms of how a murderer has been getting away with crimes for years and nobody even suspected murder. It’s really sinister to think about because it’s still unsolved.
