In my experience, most sci-fi is plot-driven with boring, cardboard characters that are simply used as tools to drive the plot. There is also a lot of dry, technical description.
I’m looking for character driven sci-fi with sparse prose (think hard boiled).
Is there such a thing?

Genesis echo by d. Hollis Anderson – not technical / soft sci-fi with interesting / unique characters you love to love and love to hate
