I have started a very informal book club with my mom and niece. I am looking for books we can read that are appropriate for a 13-year-old, but also enjoyable for my mom and I. It would be great if they also had a lesson or learning opportunity.

Not too many lessons or learning opportunities but I feel like the Good girls guide to murder series is great as a YA and even better for adults. Also Maureen Johnson’s – Truly Devious series.
