So I’m trying to write my first book. My brain works differently than most people. I’m undiagnosed, but I believe I suffer from dissociation/ depersonalization from many traumatic things that have happened in my life.
I’ve read books like “The Stranger” and “No Longer Human,” which are amazing. However, they’re too based in reality for me. I’m looking for fictional books with dissociative writing for inspiration so I can write my own book. Any genre (preferably Horror). I’m having an extremely hard time finding some, so if any of you here know of some books, I would greatly appreciate it.

None of these are horror, as horror isn’t a genre I seek out. The following are all very good, however, and have dissociated characters and/or writing styles to various degrees. Whether they’re dissociated enough to match what you’re seeking I have no idea.
Michael Ondaatje: **In the Skin of the Lion**; **The English Patient**
Arundhati Roy **God of Small Things**
Ursula K LeGuin: **Buffalo Gals Won’t You Come Out Tonight**; **Solitude**
N K Jemisin **The Fifth Season** and it’s sequels
Neil Gaiman, **The Truth is a Cave in the Black Mountains**
