Hey all, though i’d ask the community about suggestions on a good fantasy series. I’d like to start a new one. Loved Tolkein, read the first 3 books of game of thrones, too wordy snd character dense after that. Love R.A Salvator’s Drizzt series as a younger man, but the writing style doesnt stimulate me as much anymore. The DND universe is awesome but havnt read any books other than Salvatore. I love Tolkien’s style. Read a lot of Brandon Sanderson, a few of Patrick Rothfuss. I think you can see where i’m kinda going with this. Mostly looking for something WELL written and a joy to read, in these kind of fantasy settings.
Any reco’s would be awesome!

I would point you to Scott Lynch’s Gentleman Bastards series, starting with *The Lies of Locke Lamora* for classic fantasy stuff.
If you haven’t read LeGuin’s Earthsea series, you should.
The real answer is probably the incomparable N.K. Jemisin. Start with *The Fifth Season*, and go through the Broken Earth series.
I’d recommend The Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher. The first books is The Furies of Calderon. it’s a 6 book series and Valiar Marcus is my all time favorite fictional character! My Reddit name comes from the series
Cradle novella series by Will Wight. My all time favorite fantasy series.
“The Earthsea Cycle,” by Ursula K. Le Guin
