The Molly and Nanea series of books from the American Girl franchise is set during WWII. Molly’s books are set from 1943 to 46 and is set in Illinois while Nanea’s books take place from 1941 to 42 and is set in Hawaii, dealing with the aftermath of Pearl Harbor.

George Takei’s Memoir *They Called Us the Enemy* (autobiographical graphic novel) or *Weedflower* by Cynthia Kadohata (kid fiction) about interned Japanese Americans.
Also, can’t vouch for these cuz I haven’t read them yet, but *Caleb’s Wars* by David L. Dudley and *Red Sky over Hawaii* by Sara Ackerman both sound good too. They’re about a Black Georgian boy meeting a German POW and the goings on in Hawaii respectively.
EDIT to add: None of these occur in urban settings as far as I can tell tho’.
Second edit to add: Also on my TBR *Code Talker* by Joseph Bruchac which I think is a mix of stuff happening in the states and abroad.
