Hi all, does anyone happen to have any book recommendations (ideally fiction) that might be able to be characterized as “Leftist Melancholia?” By this, I mean an atmosphere, a vibe, or themes dealing with the defeat of past “lefts” (however it may have occurred–counterrevolution, violence, sheer mismanagement, economic issues, etc.) and the weight that bears on the present.
One video game I would characterize as this would be *Disco Elysium*. Mark Fisher also does a good job speaking to these concerns in his writings on critical theory. I would be immensely thankful for any recommendations!
