    1. Man, if I was her I wouldn’t want my name to be quite this public. I know she thinks she’s doing *the Lord’s work* but still.

It would be really funny because while she is fighting against rather tame sex scenes in books most young teenagers have already watched proper porn on their phones. And that list of banned books will just become the books kids will make very sure to read when they get the chance.

But it’s actually really sad. Here is a fellow reader who could read something she actually loves and enjoys but instead she decides to hate-read over 70 books. I can’t imagine the mental state I would be in after forcing myself through something like Coleen Hoover’s bibliography …

“What is the fascination…with so many of these books containing detailed sexual content?”

      – Woman who spends all of her time looking for books that contain detailed sexual content

Not even gonna read it, based on the title she seems like a pathetic and sad person who has nothing better to do then waste peoples time cause it makes her feel special

    5. A bored , attention seeking, Facebook mom, that has found a ‘cause’ to give her boring miserable existence a direction. If it wasn’t banning books it would be multi-level marketing or head of a HOA. When you’ve got no power, and you’re not happy, denying others is all you need.

    6. Imagine this being your legacy. 🤮 She’ll likely be remembered forever, at least as a minor footnote, and not for good reasons.

    7. Thanks for posting this! Now I have a name and face for the astonishingly loathsome shit-stain of a human being who had one of my books banned.

The striking thing about this is that she’s put herself in this quite powerful position despite being, by all appearances, an absolute moron philistine. She doesn’t know anything about any of this! She’s an idiotic reader, everything she thinks she knows about risk factors for predation or unsafe sex is exactly the most wrong it could be, and it’s all bound up in this crusade on behalf of children’s “innocence”, this insane projection on behalf of adults that they can save their children from growing past age ten, that has nothing to do with the actual wellbeing of children and in fact isolates them from necessary preparation for becoming adults.

    9. This is my hometown school district. This bitch is a nut job. Our amazing local bookstore is trying very hard to stop this lady and I hope they succeed.

    10. Besides being morally ridiculous, what decade does this lady live in thinking she’s stopping teens from seeing sex? Everyone has pornhub in their pocket.

    11. >Petersen, too, was alarmed. If children under 18 read about sex, she worries, they will be more likely to engage in unsafe sex or fall victim to sexual predators.

Absolutely insane that this is the underlying logic of her and her ilk. From rallies against sexual health education to book bans, its all the complete leap of logic that being educated about sexuality will lead you to abuse, completely disregarding the idea of an informed individual who can make better decisions about their life and better yet, avoid being exploited.

She isn’t just absurd or a crackpot to be laughed off, she and everyone like her are the actual threat to youth; they want stupid, ignorant kids who can be molded easily, the exact thing an abuser wants. Utterly vile.

    12. Wait until she sees whats on the internet. She’s got A TON of work to do after she clears out all the books

    13. I was about to say at least she’s actually reading the books and not just taking every sex scene out of context like most of these jackasses do, but as I read the article further it became very clear. She’s not actually reading but skimming, only looking for the parts that offend her and ignoring whatever the context is, or how it fits into the wider narrative. She’s not absorbing whatever it is she’s reading at all. I just can’t comprehend how someone willingly does that, it’s such a waste of energy. Get a fucking hobby.

She spends her nights looking at freaky, freaky porn and her days banning children’s books in a frantic search for atonement.

    15. AdMaleficent9374 on

What did I just read? How come children reading about the existence of sexual predators, abusers etc. are more likely to fall victim to sexual crimes, hence they shouldn’t read about it until 18? What a miserable pos

      Pay wall ☹️
What I managed to read before the article locked was nuts. This bish buys the books from Amazon, reads them, flags them, and writes summaries of them. Then she challenges them.
      She’s absolutely crackers.

    17. I’m so happy we all get to be told what to do and how to do it by some random stranger who thinks they’re better then everyone else. That’s exactly how I wanted to live my life.

      Said no one ever.

    18. > Petersen, too, was alarmed. If children under 18 read about sex, she worries, they will be more likely to engage in unsafe sex or fall victim to sexual predators.

But then she takes the books detailing this kind of abuse (that most Americans do not even want to face happens) and tries to get them banned, so they won’t know about abuse unless they go through it and heal after. Moreover, not only are these things happening, but only though education can these things be solved. If it could be solved at the family level, then it would already have been.

    19. If your kids have a phone they are subjected to MUCH more shocking and shady things than something found in a library.

You can’t censor the world into the shape you want it to be, nor can your personal prejudices dictate the world.

    20. “What is the fascination…with so many of these books containing detailed sexual content?” Yeah, almost like sexuality is a core component of the human experience.

    21. >the superintendent pulled 14 books for “sexually explicit material” and suggested shutting down school libraries to address budget shortfalls

ding ding, that’s an actual reason. They don’t care about obscenity at all – they know perfectly well that worse is available on the internet without a problem. They want to close the libraries and this is just the way to discredit them in the eyes of the public.

The superintendent also has no qualifications or experience in education (knowledge from other articles) – he was chosen to hurt public schooling.

So she has nothing better to do. Like genuinely she must believe she has nothing better to do.

Few things in this country are as dangerous as self righteous boredom. The moment where someone has nothing going on to the extent that when they do find something to focus on it’s steered by some crazy narrative only they and those who are equally self righteously bored can have

    23. Each one of these challenges costs a school district thousands of dollars to go through the process of review. In FL the challenger has a right to demand a Special Master to review the decision if the school’s review after the challenge, which you know this bitch does. There is no process to challenge the challenge.

Not only does it mean anyone can get any book banned from the whole school at least temporarily, but it bleeds the school district of money. As intended.
