I’m a history nerd and I’m trying to get the “full” experience of the Great War from every nation’s perspective. Wherever I can, I try to read memoirs, so if there are some good accounts focusing on one person, preferably written by that same person, and not say, firsthand accounts with narration or commentary from someone else like *Unbroken*, that would be great.
My current readings include:
1. *The Storm of Steel* (German)
2. *From Bapaume to Passchendaele* (British)
3. *Poilu* (French)
