My friend and I want to find a series to read together. She mainly likes romance and I read mainly fantasy, horror and thriller. Looking for suggestions that would have some romance and a mystery or suspense. Something with a good balance of both so neither of us would be bored or put off.

What would you all think about Stephen King’s The dark Tower series? Not too much romance in there, but a bit.
Another idea would be the way of shadows. It has some thriller, mystery, and some romance at the end.
Another idea would be the kingkiller chronicles, which is unfinished, maybe starting with the name of the wind. This one has some romance, mysteries thrown in here or there, and some fantasy, it is hard to describe but it hooks you very well.
