    1. Louis L’amour writes very simple and straightforward westerns. All about 200 pages and very tropey, but still fun.

If you like Sci-fi maybe “We are Legion” (Bobiverse series), the writing is about fan fiction level but the concept is really cool (Man had his brain frozen in modern day, wakes up in the future and has to control a probe that explores space)

For fantasy maybe The Lies of Locke Lamora, it’s longer but the writing is not challenging at all. The plot is about a group of thieves that get in over their head and is very fun.

If you like historical fiction maybe The Last Kingdom, it’s pretty much just about some badass English dude who both fights and joins vikings and King Alfred.

    2. Almost anything by John Ringo.
      Ghost or The Last Centurion.
      Misogynists gun nut fantasies.
      Also hella fun.

    3. Any Dirk Pitt/Clive Cussler books. They’re like a Indiana jones meets James Bond often set around bodies of water.

Historical mysteries, advanced technologies. A daring hero with a love for the sea. Not sure if your actually by a beach but you’ll be able to roleplay with your snorkel and flippers.

Easy and fun adventure books. They are very formulaic, requires zero brain

I started reading the Sigma forces books too which are fairly similar techno-thriller but have a more wider and varied cast of characters,

    4. Read absolutely any book by Matthew Reilly. Like a big dumb action movie in a novel, I love them so much, just turn off your brain and have fun. If I had to pick one try Ice Station, it’s like Die Hard in an Antarctic research station.

    5. My trashy beach reads? The titles are always 3 words, the first word is “The” then have a greek letter, and the last word will alway have at least 3 syllabals.. “The Omega Imperitive”, “The Gamma decision”, “The Theta Directive”, etc.

The plots are all the same. Just the locations and main characters change.

    6. Why not Ken Follett? I really liked the Pillars of the Earth – very easy to read, and very adventurous
