Could any one suggest me books on autism. I’m a parent to a non verbal high functioning 5 year old and an autistic teenager both girls and just want to learn more about autism or read from other point of views. Based in uk but open to any suggestions

    1. In a Different Key: The Story of Autism does a great job of covering the history of Autism and doing its best to remain neutral and informative without taking sides.

    2. HughHelloParson on

Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin

Look me in the Eye by John Elder Robson

      And that book “Neurotribes”

    3. Uniquely Human – Barry Prizant

      Differently wired – Deborah Reber

      Unmasking autism. – Devon price

    4. *Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions* –Temple Grandin

Dr. Grandin is herself on the spectrum. Well researched, well written.

    5. I haven’t read a lot of nonfiction about it, but if you’d like some fiction recs too

      – Act your age Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert (adult romance)
      – a kind of spark by Elle McNicoll (middle grade)
