I let my friend borrow the book Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick and she loved the book. Is there any other similar books to this book that I could read or gift to her?
I’m trying to think of Christmas gifts early so I can get ahead of my Christmas shopping. She’s really into learning about North Korea. Thank you!

I haven’t read the book you mentioned. But *Girl with Seven Names* is about a woman escaping North Korea, it’s nonfiction.
I suggested it to a coworker and she read it in a weekend. She couldn’t put the book down.
*In Order to Live* by Yeonmi Park
I was fascinated by Without You There Is No Us. American journalist of South Korean descent managed to get a job teaching at a North Korean high school.
Escape from Camp 14. Very similar to Nothing to Envy. I enjoyed both
