Looking for a fiction book about someone being thrown in the middle of a conflict. Coming of age. Personal journey of seeing both sides. Making and loosing friends and loved ones. Preferably a happy ending. Not too graphic but still convays despiration of the situation.
Really enjoyed in the past:
Shantaran: how the main character grows through experiencing the rough seedy underbelly of India.
Andor ( TV show about the star war resistance on the ground)
Rifles for watie (middle school book about civil war kid growing up and finding love and lost)
8 Ms Team ( anime about a soldier journey through war)
Been doing too much high fantasy lately and scifi(expanse) where the main character gets caught in the middle of some astronomical shifts in the universe. Want to bring it down a bit putting up the good fight and making a difference and finding love. Doesn’t have to be universe altering lol.
