If anyone is interested in a great author on yoga philosophy, give Georg Feuerstein a chance. Browsing the library, I stumbled across his book The Psychology of Yoga, which is an interesting comparison between the psyche as viewed in the yogic traditions and the western view of the mind.

With interest piqued, I dove into another good book of his, The Shambhala Gide to Yoga. This book was a broad view of the yoga tradition. This is a must read if one wants to understand the traditions of yoga.

With my interest driven even higher, I started reading Yoga Morality. So far, this book is my favorite. The content is readily digestible, though, that’s probably because I’ve already read two books on the subject.

Before reading these books, I had the vaguest idea on how the dharmic traditions viewed the world. Their perspective is quite coherent, thought out, and internal. I look forward to continuing down this path and encourage some of you, as well
