Hey all,
I’m looking for some books that discuss the partition/colonization of Africa by western powers.
I specify modern(ish) because I’ve read nonfiction books in the past that were printed in like 1970 where there are glaring errors by modern standards (such as the time I read a book about humans/apes that said that there was absolutely no way that homo sapiens and neanderthals ever mated)
This makes it hard to know, as a non-expert in the subject, which things you’re reading are accurate and which things have long been debunked. Case in point, during my initial digging, I’ve discovered that the book “The Scramble for Africa” is not considered an objectively accurate book by current experts.
Of course if there are older books that have withstood the test of time, I’m interested in hearing about those too.
