My daughter is in fifth grade (11 next month) but reading at eighth grade level. She’s hit or miss for books because of ADHD, but really loved the Medusa episode of the Percy Jackson series, because of how it reframed her story, and asked me for similar books. I tried the Percy Jackson books, and she didn’t connect with those.
I have lots (I loved Circe, among others, and the niche had a moment in adult fiction), but nothing that works for her age/stage. Please share any ideas you may have? I’m looking to build a list for her to try out over summer break.
I’m comfortable with implied difficult stuff, and her request almost demands it, but prefer it not be explicit on the page.
