I’ve read a decent number of books in my life, and I have to say almost every book I read was simply awesome. However, there are some that I even can’t find words to describe and simply feel it has become something that I cannot just let go, i mean I know it’s probably a common feeling to want more and more from the characters you have become familiar and attached to and not want the story to end, but the way I don’t wanna let go and just find myself stuck not able to pick up another book is just something I can’t explain. Plus its harder to be invested in the next book you are going to read, its like you lost a good friend. So, i was wondering if any of you feel the same whenever you complete an incredible book that touched you beyond personality and character, and how you deal with it.

Yep. It’s The Dark Tower series and Slaughterhause 5 for me for me

Absolutely. When I finished the 6th and final book of *The Lymond Chronicles* I felt bereft. And unmoored, and I don’t think I actually started a new book for like three days and I’ve been a daily reader for decades.

Absolutely! I actually just finished a book, Summer Will Show, that hit me so hard that I just couldn’t move onto another book right away. When I feel that way I will catch up on reading magazines/articles, or I’ll read some non-fiction. I’m just not ready to engage with a new set of characters and get my heart broken all over again.
