What are some plot/ character turn offs for romance books?
1. I’m extremely turned off by rude/ arrogant/ impulsive/possesive/ anger issue/ demanding/ cold hearted men in romance books. Cold hearted men are played off as “mysterious” likee?
2. Also, age gap. I understand 28 and 35 year olds together but not 21 and 35 years olds.
3. Overly sexual. I tend to gauge this as : if they were no longer young and beautiful, will they still love each other? Most books have characters who can’t even name 10 things they like about their partners because the book is too focused on sex. How is it that men see their wife in extremely predatory and extremely sexual ways? Example, Ana Huang’s books. Keyword, extremely. Ana’s books sell well tho. I’m also not a minor and I enjoy those scenes don’t get me wrong. It’s just too much.
