More specifically, I would like to read a book about someone who, in youth, was considered gifted (not necessarily to the point of prodigy) but failed to recapture their greatness of their youth as adults, or otherwise failed to live up to their potential. About how they cope with their broken dreams, if any (I understand that sometimes gifted people might struggle to even settle on a dream to pursue in the first place),
My preference goes to giftedness of an academic nature, but, if possible, no “tiger parent” type of book (i.e. a parent using their children to vicariously fulfill dreams they failed to achieve themselves)…
