I recently read “I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream”, and I’m baffled. It instantly became my favorite book for mixing together psychological horror, a frighteningly well-written AI as the villain, all in a post-apocalyptique world (my favorite genres). So, I’m looking for anything similar, whether it involves AI or any technology in general. Thank you for reading! ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

You may like books by Peter Watts. He has some available free on his website, namely Blindsight which is horror sci fi and includes AI, but the AI isn’t where the horror comes from. There’s also the Rifters series which does include AI and is apocalyptic, but I wouldn’t say it’s horror.
I only read one of these books and while there were some creepy scenes, I wouldn’t say it rises to the level of horror. But it has similar themes to I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream of the flesh being twisted horribly as people become playthings of an AI.
