I’m looking for fiction similar to the terror or the north water, set in the arctic or antarctic. Bonus points if its queer in some way – I’ve also read all the white spaces by ally wilkes and loved it.
Any time period is good – I’ve listed historical fiction above, but would be happy with something in the modern day too.

Dark Matter: A Ghost Story. Set in the 30s about a scientific expedition to the arctic.
Ascension by Nicholas Binge, or At The Mountains of Madness by Lovecraft
I’d recommend Taaqtumi: An Anthology of Arctic Horror Stories
I was just looking at a goodreads list of horror novels and Ally Wilkes’ book *Where the Dead Wait* was on there, but that doesn’t come out until December.
It’s not polar, but this book *From Below* by Darcy Coates was on there, about a dive team investigating a recently discovered shipwreck when *something* starts to hunt them. It kind of fits that isolated, survivalist theme.
Dark matter by Michelle paver. Also queer.
Not horror, but Dan Brown’s earlier stories are great, and Deception Point takes place partly in the Milne Ice Shelf. Regardless of how you feel about Da Vinci Code and the rest of the Langdon series, Deception Point, while similar in writing style, is less mystery and more shocking.
Near The Bone by Christina Henry. Pretty engaging creature horror.
