My 9yo loves to read graphic novels. The problem is that he rips through the usuals in his age group fast… he’s read Dog Man, Captain Underpants, Cat Kid Comic Club, Last Kids on Earth, Minecraft to name a few… I’d love to get him to get him some new ones for Christmas, preferably a bit more advanced and a bit longer. Thanks!

Ours moved on from those to Geronimo Stilton, the Wings of Fire series, Dragonmasters and is now on Percy Jackson and other Rick Riordan books.

Bone, by Jeff Smith. A nine-volume epic tale of monsters, dragons, con artists, and lost kingdoms. There’s also a running gag involving quiche.

Amulet, by Kazu Kibuishi. Alternate universes, mysterious house-mechas, and some excellent art.

    3. If you have a local library you can get him a library card most libraries have digital graphic novels and comics which is a much more affordable way to have access to them and they can be read on any device even in a browser. This might be a way to find out what he actually loves and then by him copies of those to keep. But they have tons of different really good graphic novels for all kinds of ages here is a good website to start with [https://readingmiddlegrade.com/graphic-novels-for-9-year-olds/](https://readingmiddlegrade.com/graphic-novels-for-9-year-olds/)
