I particularly liked the use of first person journal entries as a format for each chapter, and what I like most about Nao’s stories are how she connects her experiences to the writings of Proust and Dogen from a teenager’s worldview. I connect well with that, because I used to be a teenager, without much of a social circle, avidly reading into different philosophies and applying them/talking about them. Real nerdy about niche things.
Maybe any stories that also connect to Zen philosophy specifically, since I’m interested in how it’s portrayed in fiction and used to guide characters to overcome conflict.
I appreciate any ideas!

I loved this book so much! It’s one of my all time faves. Unfortunately I don’t know other books like it! I’m commenting to see if anyone else has a suggestion!
