Ive read both Fair and Tender Ladies and the Christmas Letters by Lee Smith and liked them both (especially the Christmas Letters but its so short and I wish it had more), and like the idea of it starting with a woman and detailing her life and moved to her daughter, granddaughter, etc. Not particularly looking for anything too graphic in violence or anything since I read to escape and don’t like characters that get dragged through the wringer or do the same to another character if that makes sense.
