I recently read Class by Paul Fussell and it was so matter of fact, but hard to relate to because it was written in 1983. I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says, but it’s interesting to see someone look into this subject with minimal political discussion.

I have looked up different books about class in America, but they tend to be more about economic inequality or the implications of class. Not just a view of the differences between classes.

Are there any suggestions for more modern books that look at status in America?
